History
The origins of Europa Worldwide Logistics dated back to 1966 when a single van was first operated to Italy under the name of SCA Express, thus offering direct deliveries for a number of retail customers in the London area.
SCA Express developed into a leading transport operator offering regular services between London, Bristol and Milan and established a reputation for quality of service. Due to continued expansion of new business across Europe, in 1976 the company sought to re-structure the organisation with the establishment of new companies specifically formed to develop individual markets.
These companies were European Van Services, AGA Freight Services and Transalpine Express, specialising in France, Germany and Italy with offices in Paris, Lyon, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Milan, Vicenza, Bologna and Firenze respectively, offering daily overnight services in direct competition with airfreight. Following rapid growth over the next fifteen years, group offices were opened in Brussels, Rotterdam, Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Stockholm, Madrid and Barcelona, all receiving daily services to and from the UK.
Additional offices were opened in the UK in Heathrow, Northampton, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Folkestone, Dover and Southampton. By 1992, the group had consolidated all the trading companies into the name of Europa under the holding company of Europa Freight Corporation. In recent years, substantial investments have been made in the development of International Seafreight and Airfreight Services with further offices being opened in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Additional investment has meant that National Distribution, 3PL Warehousing, Project Forwarding & Showfreight Exhibition Services have also been added to an enviable portfolio of services. Today Europa Worldwide Logistics are proud to be one of the largest privately owned transport and logistics companies in the UK, and employing over 400 people and with a group turnover in excess of 70 million Euros per year. The success of the company would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of a very loyal workforce.
