charity and community

Over the years Europa Worldwide Group, has raised nearly half a million pounds for good causes in communities local to our sites across the country.  Since 1978 we've been raising money through a bi-annual Charity Funday which started out as a cricket match with one client.

The Europa Charity Committee oversees the distribution of all the money raised and consists of staff members and two directors.  Over the years the funds have been used to support many organisations and the main beneficiaries are those focusing on children, older people, support for those suffering from cancer, diabetes, heart disease and dementia.

Suits away
Europa’s Suits Away initiative is designed to help people secure jobs and make it back into the workplace.
Employees across our 11 UK sites will donate professional work wear to Suited & Booted and Smart Works.
Both charities provide interview clothes and important training for unemployed men and women on low incomes.
Europa employs over 500 people across the UK and will host scheduled clothing drives for the charities.
Staff are being encouraged to donate suitable clothes, shoes and accessories to those in need of help securing employment.
This year alone, Smart Works will help more than 2,000 women with its services. In its first 12 months, Suited and Booted helped 800 men prepare for interviews and now sees over 1,000 clients a year and demand for the charity’s services is huge.
Suits Away was implemented after we moved in to our Dartford site and relaxed our dress code. Not all Europa employees are required to ‘suit up’ for the office anymore. A move that is more reflective of the company we are today.

Make your mark
Europa Worldwide Group launched its Make Your Mark project with local Dartford school, the Gateway Primary Academy. Sixty students aged 9-11 created artwork based on how they saw the Europa business. Winner Akua Assamoah (11) was announced as the winner and was invited along with her friends and runners up, Charlotte Azzpardi (11), Taylor Bygrave (11), Faye McDonnell (11) and Marsella Asadi (9), to tour the £30m Dartford facility.
Akua's design was installed in the site as 8 metre wall art.  Charlotte, Taylor, Faye and Marsella had their pictures on mugs for the staff canteen.

Giving something back to our local communities is really important to all of the team at Europa.
