Europa Scotland moves to a new depot in Coatbridge
Europa Scotland has relocated to a new 35,600 sq ft terminal in Coatbridge.
This comes as no great surprise, given the tremendous growth during the last three years achieved by General Manager Alan Green and his highly motivated team. They have seen their monthly consignments grow from an average of 300 per month in March 2004 to now over 1000 European & International consignments being handled through the depot in March 2007.
They have been actively encouraged by the Board to develop direct express & standard trailer departures to the extent that they now operate regularly 10 to 15 direct departures per week from Glasgow to Paris, Barcelona, Brussels, Rotterdam. Dusseldorf, Milan depots, and also operate a very profitable twice weekly direct import service from Milan back into Scotland. This is in addition to the nightly network connection to/from Europa Birmingham covering consignments to the other markets served by the Birmingham or Erith Hubs. Already the move into Coatbridge has attracted several new business opportunities. New Storage and Logistics customers have been secured in the first 12 weeks of 2007, with over 2000 pallets per week being stored and added value services being provided. With only another 600 pallet spaces to fill this has been a tremendous success story.
