London Marathan success for Luke Cole Europa Road

Europa is driving dedication to good causes

Europa is driving dedication to good causes. One of our team in Dartford has successfully completed the London Marathon for a great local charity.

Supporting Ellenor Hospice

The latest project supported by Europa is Ellenor Hospice in Kent. Luke Cole (Operations Manager at Europa Road in Dartford) ran the London Marathon and has raised £2500.00 for Ellenor Hospice – an organisation providing care and support to families facing terminal illness across Kent.Luke Cole, Europa Road ready to run the London Marathon 2019

Luke’s father Brian was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer three years ago and during his dads’ final days he was looked after by the Ellenor Hospice team as well as providing the whole family with counselling and support.

Luke said “They really played a crucial part in helping Dad be as comfortable as he could be, especially in those final days. I wanted to show my thanks by raising as much money as I can for this fantastic charity, as I know they will be there to support many other families in a similar situation to mine and the money I manage to raise will make a difference.”

Charity match-funding

By supporting our 900 staff across our successful match-funding programme means we can extend our reach right into the heart of local community.

In celebration of our 50th anniversary we launched the first match-funding programme called 50:50. Each member of our team has the chance to fundraise for a charity of their choice with Europa matching the funds raised.

Since its launch staff have taken part in gruelling, fun and inspirational challenges. They have walked, run, swam and baked their way to raise money!

Carl Potter, HR & Facilities Director at Europa, said: “Charity work is incredibly important to us and we’re keen to support causes close to the hearts of our employees. We’re lucky to have such a proactive and caring team and we’re very proud that our staff, suppliers and friends support a number of important community initiatives.”

Europa recently launched collections of much-needed clothing and workwear to be donated to two villages in Kenya. Warehouse Operative, James Brown, runs the collection with the help of donations from Europa warehouse staff in Northampton and Birmingham.
