The Network & Security Engineer will join the Network & Security Team in our leading international Transport/Logistics company, based in Dartford.

In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, administering, maintaining, and supporting global networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN) and Security related hardware and software, using state-of-the-art technology.

The successful candidate will integrate the latest technology and ensure the right network security configuration & best practices are implemented and enforced, whilst also providing BAU support for all aspects of Network & Security, including to the wider IT Team.

Responsible For
  • Deploy, administer, and maintain Network & Security platforms and any other related software, such as routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, network access control, cryptography systems, monitoring, and cloud technologies/applications.
  • Perform diagnostics, appraisal, and analysis on predominantly Cisco based Network & Security technologies, such as, firewalls, VPN’s, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, network access control, and other network policies to ensure maximum system reliability & security.
  • Monitor network traffic to optimise performance and efficiency.
  • Implement and administer remote access, and VPN Solutions.
  • Manage PKI distribution and issue/revoke certificates.
  • Give direction and recommendation on Network & Security Enhancements/Features.
  • Develop technical specifications, runbooks, design documents and roll-out and test plans.
  • Provide BAU support for Network & Security related tickets/incidents.
  • Contribute to IT policies and process development using industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals, such as Cyber Security Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, IT Support, and Software Developers to ensure that security is built into new systems and applications.
  • Work under strict change control processes to ensure only authorised changes are carried out.
  • Work with third parties to ensure systems are meeting their potential and remediate issues.
  • Create technical and non-technical documentation.
  • Define and maintain security policies & procedures.
  • Identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and propose/implement mitigating solutions.
  • Provide occasional on-site support at other Europa Worldwide Group sites inside and outside of the UK.

Additional Requirements
  • Cisco network support experience (2 years’+ is desirable).
  • Experience supporting multisite L2 & L3 networks.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP Suite.
  • Experience with the configuration and operational maintenance of Cisco Software & Hardware.
  • Hands-on experience in the administration and configuration of Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of network segmentation and access control.
  • Experience with site-to-site and Endpoint VPNs.
  • Experience with enterprise wireless solutions.
  • Experience with RADIUS/TACACS.
  • Experience implementing & supporting routing solutions | BGP, STATIC.
  • Cisco Meraki exposure.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong Second/Third line BAU Network support.
  • Experience working with Network Monitoring Solutions.
  • Technical and non-technical Documentation | Visio, MSOffice.
  • Hold a full UK Driving license.
