Arron Delamare

New Head of Operations to Lead 3pl Team

Arron Delamare has been appointed as the new Head of Operations at Europa Warehouse’s Corby facility.

Having started his career as a management graduate at Kuehne + Nagel, Arron brings with him a wealth of technical experience, having delivered Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) change management programmes in the UK and Australia. Most recently, he has been at the helm of Learning for Leaders, management consultancy.

As Head of Operations, Arron leads the 300+ team in Corby, to help ensure operational delivery at the state-of-the-art, fully automated, super-sized facility.

More about Europa Warehouse in Corby

The £60m, 715,000 sq ft 3pl site – which opened in June last year – has recently seen a further £11m investment into state-of-the-art automation, making the facility one of only a handful in the UK.

Europa Warehouse in Corby was built and operationalised at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.  When the company opened the facility, it was already at capacity, such has been the massive growth of the firm.  The new automated, cutting-edge technology will create increased efficiencies for Europa’s customers, which include e-commerce and blue-chip online retailers – most of which have experienced vast growth following the e-commerce boom.

The firm’s clients, operating across a broad range of sectors, speak highly of the fulfilment efficiencies, production services, inventory management, packing, labelling, special deliveries, final assembly, quality control and critical parts management that the Corby facility offers.

Commenting on his appointment, Arron said:

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a pioneering logistics company that is really ahead of the game. The team has already come along way, opening during the global pandemic.  As a new site, we are on a journey. I see this as an exciting challenge to directly impact how the facility moves forward.

I’m thrilled to be joining the team at a pivotal time when significant additional investment is being made in the very latest automation at the site. Europa Warehouse is evolving, and it is fantastic to be a part of that journey.

UK e-commerce market

The UK now has the most sophisticated e-commerce market in Europe. Over the past decade, the value of online retail across Great Britain is estimated to be £76bn. This rose sharply during 2020 as consumers switched from physical to internet shopping.  Although online spending over recent months has stabilised, values for October 2021 still accounted for 27 per cent of all UK expenditure,  8 per cent higher than the levels achieved in February 2020 before the pandemic hit.

The high volume of goods going through Europa Warehouse reflect these trends. The addition of Corby to the award-winning facilities and services in Birmingham and Dartford doubled the firm’s logistics capacity and was a planned response to addressing this soaring demand.

Comment from Maria Torrent-March, Logistics Director at Europa Warehouse:

Our Corby facility meets the highest possible specifications within the industry, meaning we can deliver orders seamlessly, to the highest possible standards.

I’m delighted to welcome Arron to Europa Warehouse. He has the right skills and expertise to enhance the technical service we provide in Corby. I have every confidence in his talents as we push forwards to the next phase of our growth strategy.
