Our charitySince 1978 (and the start our Charitable Trust) Europa Worldwide Group has raised over half a million pounds for good causes and in 2016 we donated £14,500 for more than 30 UK charities.
Each member of the team had the chance staff to fundraise for a charity of their choice with us matching the money they have raised up to the value of £500 per person.
Over the course of the year, individuals and groups have taken part in gruelling, fun and inspirational challenges to raise the impressive total.
Events included our IT Director, Richard Litchfield, who completed his first ever full marathon in Nottingham, raising over £2,000 and Europa Road Manchester branch manager Paul Martin, who took on the Great North Swim at Lake Windermere, raising £700, both for Cancer Research. National European Forwarding Manager, Simon Hucks, also raised £1,000 by taking part in a memory walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society
Darent Valley Hospital Project
Europas latest charity project is to fund a new play area for sick children, close to its Dartford headquarters.
The play area is for the children’s ward of Darent Valley Hospital, in Dartford. Children admitted to the children’s Willow Ward were not able to play outside when the hospital’s old climbing frame was deemed unsafe and cordoned off last summer. Since then, the damaged equipment has been removed so the children could go outside, but the climbing frame has not been replaced.
We’re very proud that every year Europa’ staff, suppliers and friends support a number of community initiatives and good causes important to the team.
Fundraising brings people together and our initiatives over the years is a great way of supporting our staff while also helping charities close to our hearts.
Agne Sriubenaite, Europa’s dedicated Charity Fund Co-Ordinator will be managing all charity projects on behalf of the business.
