New Head of Sales Appointed at Drinks Logistics Specialist Europa

Specialist beer, wine and spirits logistics operator Europa Warehouse has appointed its first Head of Sales at its ‘best in class’, state-of-the-art £60m facility in Corby, Northants which is set to open this summer.

From Branch Manager to Head of Sales

Sally Watson, who joined Europa as a Senior Account Manager in 2014, has swiftly progressed up the management ladder within the business, first to Branch Manager in Nottingham, then Birmingham and now to Head of Sales for Europa Warehouse. The division is particularly proud of its long-standing and expanding customer relationships with well-known brands in the beer, wine and spirits sector.

Tasked with building relationships with potential new customers to fill the future-proofed 715,000 sq ft 3PL facility at Midlands Logistics Park, Sally has relished the opportunity of meeting key players in the retail, ecommerce and drinks sectors and presenting to them about Europa’s state-of-the-art facility coming soon at Corby.

Corby facility at the forefront of innovation

Sally said: “I’m thrilled to have been promoted to this very exciting new position at a time of such growth and expansion for Europa. Our new facility in Corby is at the forefront of innovation within the logistics sector, so discussing its credentials and contract requirements is proving to be a really rewarding and positive experience as everyone is keen to learn more about it.

“The scale of the build is truly impressive, as you can see from the drone footage we share regularly on our website and across our social media channels. We’ve had a lot of interest so far from business who are considering moving their operation to us, not necessarily to make cost savings but because they want to work with a like-minded business which will offer them the capacity for growth. I’ve noticed this particularly within the ecommerce sector, where businesses are taking off massively and need the option for increased space at short notice.

“It’s a real privilege to be responsible for building sales relationships for our biggest facility to date and I’m really enjoying the opportunity to get out there, network, meet new contacts and spread the word about all the fantastic services we offer at Europa. We can’t wait to welcome our first customers to Corby!”

 Doubling Europa Warehouse’s Logistics Portfolio

Midlands Logistics Park in Corby has already created 2,200 local jobs since 2015.  Built on the site of a former British Steel quarry and latterly Stanion Plantation, Midlands Logistics Park covers 150 acres. Corby is an established and strategic industrial and distribution location in the heart of the East Midlands, and benefits from excellent connectivity due to recent road network upgrades. Europa is looking to recruit a team of 200 ready for its site opening.

Europa Warehouse delivers a cost-effective solution offering a range of value-added capabilities including e-commerce fulfilment, production services, inventory management, packing, labelling, special deliveries, final assembly, quality control and critical parts management. Europa also has a fully compliant contact centre, offering an extensive range of outsourced customer support by phone and digital platforms.

This new facility will double Europa Warehouse’s logistics portfolio and is being constructed to a high-quality institutional specification, including above market standard 18 metre heights to facilitate three floors of mezzanines. Europa Warehouse already supports a wide range of leading blue-chip clients and this new facility will enable it to enhance its services significantly.

Europa Warehouse Director Maria Torrent-March commented:

“Sally is doing a fantastic job of building up a valuable and diverse database of contacts and potential new customers for Corby. We’re very pleased with the interest to date as we gradually move towards completion of the site in the summer and look forward to welcoming our first customers to their new state-of-the-art home.”
