We’re continuing to set the pace for outstanding health and safety standards in logistics after being accredited to an international standard for the second year running.
Europa Worldwide Group, which has been trading for more than 50 years, has been awarded the British Standards Institute’s BS OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management accreditation, fulfilling one of its core company values – to “work safely and responsibly”.
BS OHSAS 18001 enables organisations to put the right policies, procedures and controls in place to create the best possible working conditions. It follows an ongoing major investment in both time and cost in health and safety training across its 11 UK sites.
HR and Facilities Director at Europa, Carl Potter, said the aim of the reaccreditation was to maintain our position as a trailblazer in health and safety standards in the logistics industry.
Carl said: “We are thrilled to receive this reaccreditation because it demonstrates our commitment to protecting employees, customers, visitors, contractors and the public during the course of our business activities.
“Our goal is to be recognised as an international leader in health and safety standards and ensure that every member of the whole team across all our facilities understands the importance that it holds.
“The Occupational Health and Safety Management System specification is a benchmark of excellence and could have only been achieved by embedding this within our management culture since we introduced our values three years ago.”
He continued: “We have invested a lot of hard work into our health and safety compliance management system, even working with consultants, Inspire International UK Ltd, to ensure we are achieving the highest standards possible. This accreditation is an incredible achievement for the whole team and another positive step towards demonstrating our commitment to guaranteeing the safest possible working environment.”
