European road freight expert Europa Road BV in Rotterdam is celebrating its first birthday.
A Successful Year
Having finished its year ahead of target the team of 14, led by experienced Branch Managers Dennis Henderson and Dirk Van Thillo, continues to demonstrate its support for Dutch exporters in a post-Brexit economy with its market-leading transit times, customer service and innovative Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) solution to ease customs clearance.
Europa Road Rotterdam
Europa Road BV was established early in 2023 to provide flexible and frictionless logistics options for goods between NL and the UK. Having already had an established presence in the Benelux region with its Oostende, Belgium, office, the team has grown from a standing start, successfully growing its customer base and meeting the demand for full loads, part loads and groupage services.

“Our local customers have had to contend with several challenges recently, with geopolitical issues impacting supply chains and rising inflation rates causing Dutch exports to fall by four percent. Brexit also hit headlines again recently, with new border controls expected to cause possible consignment delays from EU countries, transporting animal and plant products.
“With these additional complexities, it’s important that Dutch businesses exporting to the UK have the infrastructure in place to tackle issues around customs clearance and the payment of duties.”
EU/ UK Trade Post-Brexit
When Brexit happened, many EU specialist online retailers temporarily ceased trade with the UK due to the extra complexities around customs clearance and tax changes.
Jack commented that this was common with smaller businesses who “don’t have UK entities to help them sort their customs clearance on the UK side of the channel”.

The team has overseen the growth of Europa’s market share in the region, particularly for finished products typically transported via groupage, and continues to open recruitment opportunities in the region.”
Dennis Henderson, Sales Branch Manager, has been at Europa since August 2023 and has spent more than a decade working within the Dutch logistics sector. His appointment followed the launch of Europa Road’s unique DDP service Europa Flow into the region, which uses DDP incoterms to take care of customs declarations and duty requirements prior to delivery, easing complex administration and improving transit times.

The Benelux Operation
The Rotterdam team, along with the company’s Belgian operation in Oostende has over 400 trailers on Benelux-UK business, performing more than 22,000 crossings of the channel per year for customers across packaging, electrical components, raw materials, construction materials and finished goods to name a few.
